November Newsletter 2025
Teri Ann Cox
Executive Director of The Children’s Center
Dear Center Families,
Looking back at past November newsletters, I find I have consistently written about being thankful – which makes sense, since November is “National Gratitude Month”, and we celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. Taking a moment and being grateful allows us to shift our focus from the negative to appreciating what is positive in our lives. In my experience, when I am grateful, life seems to improve for the better; it always seems to turn what I already have into enough.
I find myself particularly reflective as we approach Veterans Day. This year, I will bring my mom to the NH State Veterans Cemetery where my dad is laid to rest. I will be clearly reminded of the thousands of veterans and eligible dependents who are peacefully honored there. I will remember as well, the tens of millions of Americans who have served in the armed forces since our country’s founding. I am humbled by the men and women I have met over the years and grateful to each one who served honorably both in wartime and peacetime. Let us not forget, they served and sacrificed for America’s freedoms.
On November 11, I encourage you, along with your child(ren), to thank a veteran for their service. I recommend taking a moment to pause and see the hundreds of small flags at Brewster Academy’s DeWolf Field that will be waving between November 6 and 19. Once again, the Winnipesaukee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will be installing the 5th Annual Field of Flags as a tribute to our veterans. I look forward to seeing the flags placed in honor of my dad, my husband, and father-in-law -- as well as our own team member, Bob Tuttle, and several Center children’s family members, too.
May you all have many reasons to be grateful and give thanks this month.
Respectfully yours,
Teri Ann
