Hello Ducklings Families,

September was so much fun and a great start to the new school year.

Our environment is a very exciting place when you’re a Duckling, discovering things for the first time. The Ducklings love to play, and it is actually a very important activity. Some of us are learning to walk and some of us are working on our sweet dance moves.

We have been busy doing lots of activities that work on our pincer grasp, which is using just the index finger and thumb to hold or pick things up. This valuable skill set the foundations for all sorts of skills down the road.

If your Duckling would like to practice at home, tear off pieces of painter’s tape and put it on the walls and floor. Make sure the pieces are long enough so that once they grab the tape with their pincer grip, they also strengthen their fingers by pulling it off. Please remember that Ducks will eat anything, so watch closely.
