The Children's Center is pleased to announce that Kara Cutter, former Little Owls toddler/preschool teacher, is named to the position of Magic Moments Preschool Teacher effective August 2021.

In this new capacity, Kara will report to the Executive Director in the Magic Moments role and have a dotted line reporting relationship with Jana Bush, Preschool/School Age Coordinator (as she will continue to substitute teach at the Center in the afternoons and cover in All Stars during school vacations).

Kara joined The Children’s Center the summer of 2019, and then the pandemic hit. Since then, she has needed to stay home with her own two sons. Prior to joining the Center, Kara was the Lead Preschool Teacher and Assistant Director at Joyful Footsteps in Alton. With more than 12 years of teaching experience, Kara’s teaching practice can be best described as facilitating a family-like atmosphere with mutual respect, bonds, and trust between children, families, and teachers. Kara has also actively mentored Prospect Mountain High School students taking child development classes, making her an excellent fit with the Magic Moments lab environment that includes collaborating with students in the Careers in Education program at Lakes Region Technology Center.

Kara’s own formal education has included Guidance in Early Childhood Education from Penn, Organization and Management in ECE from White Mountain Community College, and course work toward her ECE degree at Lakes Region Community College. She is trained in the Pyramid Model practices. Kara has also met the requirements for the NH Early Childhood Teacher Level 4 Credential.

As we reopen Magic Moments for the 2021-2022 school year, we are excited to have Kara taking on this new role and responsibility given her level of experience, strong communication skills, and commitment to a best practice approach in early education. She is creative and energetic - teaching preschool is her true passion. Please join us in welcoming Kara back and congratulating her on her new assignment!
